The Shed is one of the longest running youth clubs in South Kirkby and South Elmsall. Opened in 2006 after Pastor Martyn Sullivan realised that there was very little provision for young people in the community. SInce its humble beginnings the Shed has gone from strength to strength. It is regularly attended by between 30 and 70 children every Tuesday night.
The Shed is open every Tuesday evening between 7:00pm and 9:00pm during term time
St Luke's has years of experience in working with children and young people and are very keen to ensure that all their staff are safe to work with children. As well as having specified policies about working with young people all staff are expected to go through Police checks and a DBS check to ensure they are suitable

We are open from 8:45am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday during term time

When we are asked why kid's love the Shed, its simple ... "We gave them what they asked for" a place to call their own and activities that they want to do" ... a change in programme at The Shed usually comes about because that's what they young people ask us ...
Lots of different things happen at the Shed. There are pool tables, foosball table, 2 xbox 360's, 2 ps3's as well as large screen TV with a Nintendo Wii. A big screen for Films, TV and Video games, a tuck shop and an outside games area with a large MUGA for football and basketball. The Shed also has its own radio show. Lots to do for active minds ...
We don't have many rules but the ones we do have we stick too .. No Swearing, No Fighting, No Bullying, No Drinking, No Drugs, How are they applied, consistently! After years of working with young people we discover they have a better time when the boundaries are clear ..
The Shed is open for young people between the ages of 8yrs and 16yrs. We are not bothered where young people come from, or what their background is ... to be a part of the Shed all they need to do is follow the rules and they'll have a great time.
