I was baptised as a child ?The fact that you were baptised (Christened) as a child is a demonstration that your parents wanted you to have a relationship with God.
When your were Christened as a baby your parents made certain promises on your behalf. Your baptism is an expression of your personal desire as an adult to demonstrate to others that you have become a follower of Jesus and that you are obeying Him.
What happens at a Baptism Service
Baptism services normally take place on a Sunday evening. Those being baptised will normally invite family and friends to the service. At an appropriate time during the service the baptismal candidate will explain how they have come to faith and explain why they want to be baptised., then the person being baptised is lowered under the water for a bried moment. an act known as total immersion.
After the service there is normally a finger buffet where people get an opportunity to talk with those who have been baptised and generally enjoy this special occassion
If you would like to discuss your baptism or have any questions you would like to ask or discuss then you can arrange to meet with a member of our senior leadership team. You can make arrangements by contacting the church office.
