Our meetings usually enjoy a time of worship (which is singing & prayer, accompanied by contemporary music). This is followed by a short teaching time.Every Sunday morning we celebrate Communion, which is similar to the Anglican Communion service with bread and wine offered to all the congregation as a remembrance of Jesus’ death. Prayer for healing is available on request after every service.
How Should I Dress
You probably won't see a lot of people wearing suits and ties on Sundays, that is because most people at St Luke's prefer to wear casual dress. When people ask us what they should wear to church we just say wear what you are comfortable in ... and to be honest we think that God is more interested in what's on the inside than what's on the outside!
What About My Children
On Sunday mornings at St Luke's we run a “Sunday School” with age-appropriate music, art, crafts, stories & learning from the Bible during the teaching time of the service. We also have a creche for babies too. The beginning of their activities will be announced. All our children’s workers are DBS checked..
How long does a service last?
Most services last for about 90 minutes but on some occasions they may be extended to 2 hours, but feel free to come and go as you need to. After the Sunday evening service some people leave immediately but many people tend to stick around for some coffee or tea and a chat with one another so the church is usually open till about 8:00 - 8:30pm
